Rui Mataloto - is the archaeologist and cultural officer for the Municipality of Redondo, Portugal. He holds an MA in Prehistory and Archaeology from the University of Lisbon and has worked as a professional archaeologist in the Alentejo region for over a decade. He also served as a researcher for UNIARQ, the Center for Archaeology at the University of Lisbon, as vice president of the PortAnta Archaeological Cooperative, and founding board member of Western Iberia Archaeology. He has published extensively on the archaeology of Alto Alentejo, including the Carta Arqueológica de Redondo (2001) and many articles on topics in the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman Republican periods. Rui's research interests encompass lithics, prehistoric landscapes, and interactions between indigenous Alentejans and Roman settlers.

Alex Elliott - completed his PhD in the School of Classics at the University of St Andrews. He also holds an MA in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Alex has archaeological experience from digs in both Portugal and Australia and previously acted as the Collections Coordinator for the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne, Australia. His research interests focus on the Roman military, particularly on its often-overlooked naval elements. Since 2017, Alex has also acted as an excavation supervisor for the Santa Susana Archaeological Project, a Roman villa site also located in the Alentejo.

Jemima Cowey - Jemima Cowey is an Assistant Lecturer for the Masters in Conservation of Archaeological and Museum objects at Durham University in the UK. Jemima has been involved with archaeological projects in Australia, Greece, Portugal, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Croatia, Spain, and Cyprus. As an archaeological conservator, she has worked with a wide range of materials, including Neolithic pottery, huge iron swords, gorgeous Classical Greek ceramics and even a crocodile skin! Jemima is looking forward to working with students in the field laboratory to clean and conserve our finds.
